Applying to Adopt, & Applicant Requirements

Adoption is the most important part of rescue, and we look forward to giving our felines their happily ever after they so deserve. In order to be considered to adopt from BPKR we ask that you fill out the adoption application listed above, if you fit our adoption requirements. If you have any questions at all please do not hesitate to contact us.

Please make sure you’re committed to your application and the whole family agrees on the adoption. If you get a kitten from another rescue, you must let us know so we can withdraw your application.

Applications also can be submitted & preapproved for general approval if your waiting for the right match to come along. This way you don’t have to wait as long to get approved when we post newly available kittens. Once you see us post new kittens that are accepting applications just contact us and say you have an approved application, and we will make sure you’re a good fit for that specific kitten.

We require that all adoption applicants must comply with the following requirements:

-Applicant must be within a 2 hour drive of Hellertown, Pennsylvania.
This is for the sake of our kittens not being stressed on a long drive, and if they were ever to be returned it’s not a long drive for volunteers. Please search how far you are from Hellertown Pennsylvania if you are not sure how far you are.

-Applicant must be at least 18 years of age or older.

-Applicants interested in young kittens (under 6 months) must have another young feline in the home, or be interested in adopting a pair of kittens. We still encourage pairs for any age, if possible.

This is for the benefit of our kittens. In order to develop properly both mentally & physically, kittens need a playmate to match their energy and enrichment level. Play time with humans is not the same enrichment compared to 2 kittens playing together.

It typically takes up to 7 days for an application to get approved, however this can be shorter or longer depending on how many applications are being processed and if it’s for a specific kitten.
